The pride of Narail Mashrafe Bin Mortaza is greeted with heroic receptions in his home district. Today he reached his home soil for the first time after returning from a successful world cup tournament. He landed in the field of Narail Government Victoria College at around 4 pm. His wife Shumona Haque Shumi, only daughter Humaira, only son Sahel, general secretary of Narail Sports Association Ashikur Rahman Miku accompanied him. Mashrafe was adorned with flowery reception by Narail District Administration, Police administration and sports association as soon as he stepped out from the helicopter. He rode in an open car and a colorful procession started with that. Security forces struggled to manage the fans and put them in disciplined order. Thousands of people were carrying colorful festoons, banners, depictions of tiger and bunches of flowers. Horse ridden cars, elephants were also accompanied the cars during the procession which moved around three kilometers path in the city. People were shouting in the name of their hero. The prolific Bangladeshi skipper received 22 crests that were given from different social, political, cultural and sports associations. While delivering his speech Mashrafe said, “I will remember this occasion forever. The honor I have received from my countrymen is unprecedented for me. I want stay with cricket for the rest of my life. Please everyone pray for me so that I can bring more glories for my country.” Distinguished guests along with the close family members of Mashrafe, his father Golam Mortaza, mother Hamida Mortaza, in laws were present in the occasion. Advocate Sheikh Hafizur Rahman MP, Narail District Administrator Abdul Gaffar Khan, Police Super Shardar Raqibul Islam, General Secretary of District Women’s Sports Association Rabeya Yusuf, Chairman of Narail Chambers of Commerce Hasanuzzaman were present in the stage. A cultural program has also been arranged at night in this occasion.
