Zimbabwe have dominated the opening day of thr Sylhet Test. Three wickets each from Blessing Muzarabani and Wellington Masakadza bundled Bangladesh out for 191 runs. In response, Zimbabwean openers Brian Bennett and Ben Curran ducked well to survive the rest of the day.

Zimbabwe lost the toss and they were asked to bowl first. Bangladesh had a steady start after opting to bat first, adding 31 runs on the opening stand before the fall of Shadman Islam, and the very next over Mahmudul Islam Joy, other opener to fell to the same bowler Nyauchi.

But Bangladeshi skipper Najmul Hossain Shanto and Mominul Islam steadied the ship for the hosts, helping Bangladesh in fightback and adding a superb 66-run stand between them but Blessing Muzarabani got Shanto rid off after his well-made 40 off 69 balls.

Since then, wicketa kept tumbling as Mominul Islam kept losing his partners at the other end and Wellington Masakadza ran riot through the Bangladesh middle order. It the departure of Mominul after his excellent 56 off 105 balls, Bangladesh lost the way and were bundled out for a paltry 191 runs.

In response, Brian Bennett and Ben Curran have batted with calm assurance, but runs came fast forward as the openers put on a show in Sylhet at the backend of the day, stitching up a superb 67 runs together and setting the tourists to a nice play for tomorrow to overhaul Bangladesh's total and have a lead.
