Sri Lankan fast bowler Dilshan Madushanka has been ruled out for the third ODI between Bangladesh and Sri Lanka, as he suffered a hamstring injury in the 2nd game.
Madushanka, who has been a revolution for Sri Lanka since the beginning of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023, was performing well in the ongoing series against Bangladesh as well.
Madushanka picked up 2 wickets in the second match, dismissing Litton Das for a duck and removing a well set Najmul Hossain Shanto for 40, to bring his side back into the contest.
However, in his 7th over, he felt something and stepped off the field. He did not return to the field that day. Despite his absence Sri Lanka managed to win by 3 wickets.
After doing an MRI scan, it has been confirmed that Madushanka has suffered from a left hamstring injury. The bowler will be starting his rehabilitation work with immediate effect.
