Lancashire – Ashton Turner, the Australian all-rounder, has been signed by Lancashire for the first eight games of the 2025 Vitality T20 Blast. Turner, who has impressed in domestic cricket, will also be available for County Championship matches at the end of June. His signing is set to strengthen Lancashire’s middle-order and add a valuable spin-bowling option.

Turner, 31, has played the last three seasons for Durham in the T20 Blast, where he averaged 33.00 with a strike rate of 148.07. He also made an unbeaten century in one of his two first-class appearances for Durham. Although Turner has not had a major impact at the international level, his consistent performances in domestic cricket have earned him recognition.

The all-rounder is no stranger to Emirates Old Trafford, having played for Manchester Originals in the Hundred during the 2022 and 2023 seasons. His familiarity with the conditions will be an asset to Lancashire as they aim for success in both the Blast and the County Championship.

Turner expressed his excitement about joining one of England’s biggest county cricket clubs. "To have the opportunity to join one of the biggest county cricket clubs in England is a really exciting one for me," Turner said. "Emirates Old Trafford is a stadium that I know well, following my two years with Manchester Originals – I am looking forward to making it home again this summer and pulling on the red rose for the time."

Turner, who has always loved playing in the T20 Blast, also shared his enthusiasm for testing himself in the County Championship. "The Blast is a competition that I have loved playing in, while testing myself in the County Championship is something I have always wanted to do, so I can't wait for that," he added.a
