The Karachi Kings made the announcement on Sunday of appointing former Australian speedster Shaun Tait as the team's assistant and fast bowling coach in preparation for the 10th edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL)

A major addition to the coaching staff of the Karachi Kings came just days ahead of the commencement of the 2025 Pakistan Super League season: former Australian fast bowler Shaun Tait has been recruited as the new fast bowling and assistant coach. The franchise officially confirmed the hiring through its social media channels and welcomed the erstwhile Australian aboard its coaching team.

Apart from being the fast bowling coach, Shaun Tait will also act as an assistant to Ravi Bopara, who has been named head coach of the Karachi Kings for the 10th PSL season.

The ex-England all-rounder will take the place of ex-West Indian cricketer Phil Simmons, who was the franchise head coach in the last PSL season in 2024.

With a pace attack featuring Adam Milne, Abbas Afridi, and Mir Hamza, Shaun Tait's contribution will be priceless for the Karachi Kings.

Tait, who has worked in several coaching roles across the globe, including with the Pakistan national team, will be joining the newly established Karachi Kings coaching team this season.

This new coaching combination demonstrates Karachi's intentions to rebuild and compete for championships in PSL X. They have a mix of international experience, tactical awareness, knowledge of PSL culture, and understanding of contemporary cricket to offer the team.

Karachi Kings' changes do not begin in the dugout. The team, which went out and made one of the largest signings in PSL history by signing David Warner, then entrusted the captaincy to the Australian legend. Warner, who is well-known globally for his aggressive playing style and bold captaincy, will captain the Kings in his first PSL season.
