Kane Williamson to miss the third Test against India
The Blackcaps have taken a cautious step for Kane Williamson as the batter has done a superb progress to his fitness but they want him to be fully fit in the upcoming England Test series.

The Blackcaps ace batter Kane Williamson has been ruled out of the third Test match against India, commences from Friday, November 1. He is continuing his recovery from groin injury.

Kane Williamson didn't travel with the Kiwis squad after sustaining the groin injury during the Test tour of Sri Lanka. And he will remain at home to continue his rehabilitation. While, Will Young batted at No. 3 in Williamson's absence and scored 33 and 48* in the first Test in Bengaluru, where the Kiwis beat India by 8 wickets. And then Young made 18 and 23 in the second Test, where the Kiwis beat India by 113 runs.
The Blackcaps have taken a cautious step for Kane Williamson as the batter has done a superb progress to his fitness but they want him to be fully fit in the upcoming England Test series.
“Kane continues to show good signs, but isn’t quite ready to jump on a plane and join us,” said Stead.
“While things are looking promising, we think the best course of action is for him to stay in New Zealand and focus on the final part of his rehabilitation so he’ll be good to go for England.
“The England series is still a month away so taking the cautious approach now will ensure he is ready for the first Test in Christchurch.”
New Zealand have scripted history as they beat India by 2-0 in the series, this is Kiwis maiden Test series victory in India. Also this is India's first Test series defeat after almost 12 overs and 18 consecutive home series.
Rachin Ravindra was the Player of the Match, for scoring a swashbuckling century in the first innings and an the an unbeaten 39* in the chase. Matt Henry and Will O'Rourke took eight and seven wickets respectively. While, Mitchell Santner was adjusted as the player of the match in the Pune, as he scalped 13 wickets in the match and ran riot through the Indian batting lineup.
