While foreign coaches often receive the spotlight, Bangladesh's domestic coaches are equally responsible for shaping the nation’s cricket stars. Wicket-keeper batter Jaker Ali recently emphasized the significant contributions of local coaches like Mizanur Rahman Babul and Sohel Islam, both of whom played crucial roles in Bangladesh’s recent Test series victory against Pakistan.

Jaker praised the domestic coaches, highlighting their relentless work ethic. "In the last few days of our training, Sohel Sir and Babul Sir worked really hard. They worked in two shifts—overseeing our red-ball practice in the morning and white-ball sessions in the evening," said Jaker. He noted how these local coaches often manage the players' training when the national team’s coaches are unavailable, ensuring continuous development.

Despite their crucial role, the efforts of domestic coaches often go unnoticed. "You can’t imagine how hard they work. Their contributions are often thankless. They aren’t given the spotlight. I don’t want to name any specific coach, but every one of them has made a contribution," Jaker remarked. He emphasized the deep connection and understanding that local coaches have with the players, saying, "I’ve worked with many of them since my childhood, and they know every little detail about us. Working with them is always stress-free."
