India wicket-keeper batter Ishan Kishan will be back for the forthcoming domestic season after being benched by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) for declining to play in the Ranji Trophy last year. His name is on the Jharkhand State Cricket Association's (JSCA) list of 25 players to watch ahead of the upcoming season.

According to Cricbuzz's sources, 26-year-old Kishan has committed to playing for the state next season and is being considered for a leadership position. Details are still sketchy, but Kishan has officially informed the JSCA that he will be available to play for the state squad next season.

Several well-wishers and the selectors from Team India allegedly spoke with Ishan Kishan and gave him advice on the subject, according to the report. The keeper-batsman was reportedly warned explicitly that he risked missing out on international possibilities while he was at the height of his career.

According to the report, Ishan Kishan would be considered for the national selection once he returns through the local circuit. In the current one-day international series against the Sri Lanka National Cricket Team, Shreyas Iyer, who was also fired from the central contracts with Kishan, has also returned to action.

On September 5, the Duleep Trophy first-class red ball competition kicks off the Indian domestic season. The selection of Ishan Kishan for the competition is highly doubtful, though, due to his prior refusal to play for the state in the previous season.

Ishan Kishan was an integral part of the Indian squad in all three competitions last year. The keeper-batsman was a mainstay for the squad, and when Rishabh Pant was out with an injury, Ishan Kishan was the go-to backup.

Currently, the wicketkeeper-batsman has settled on Jharkhand for the upcoming domestic season. Aside from that, Kishan is being considered for the position of captain by the state organization.
