New Zealand have crushed Bangladesh by 86 runs on Saturday (23rd September) . The debutant Khaled Ahmed and Mahedi Hasan shared 3 wickets each, while Mustafizur was at his flow today with two wickets. But Tom Blundell and at the end, Ish Sodhi's late bursts helped New Zealand cruise pass 250 and post a competitive 254 on the board. Ish Sodhi's exceptional bowling too helped them win the match by 86 runs.

At first he scored 35 with the bat and then took 6 wickets with the ball. 
 Earlier the day, Kiwi skipper Lockie Ferguson won the toss and they elected to bat first. Coming out to bat, they struggled immensely as the duo Mustafizur Rahman and Hasan Mahmud kept the line - lengths tight for the bowlers. Mustafizur got reward for his bowling as he removed Will Young for a 8 ball duck. Finn Allen too followed his partner and went back to the pavilion scoring 12 from 15 balls. The debutant Khaled Ahmed got the wicket of Chad Bowes and New Zealand were reeling at 36-3.

After a storm, the kiwi experienced campaigners Henry Nicholls and Tom Blundell kept the hope alive for New Zealand. The duo were right on the track and saved Kiwis from a horrible collapse. This pair added 95 runs on fourth wicket stand before the former one fell to Khaled Ahmed scoring 49 from 61 deliveries. However Blundell was going strongly and notched up a brilliant fifty and scored 68 from only 66 deliveries.

After the departure of both of them, Bangladeshi bowlers triggered a collapse. Nevertheless, New Zealand's tail wagged for them as Jamieson, McConchie and Jamieson all had handy contributions. Particularly Ish Sodhi was superb on the occasion. He was mankad by Hasan Mahmud but Bangladesh skipper Litton Das taken back the appeal and let Sodhi play. And he whacked the Bangladeshi bowlers at the end. He went for scoring a decisive 35 off just 38 balls and New Zealand posted a competitive 254 on the board.

In repy, Bangladesh lost their skipper earlier of the match. Tamim Iqbal after a long injury seemed brilliant and was looking around the ground. Tamim scored a fine 44 off 58 deliveries. Apart from Tamim noone from Bangladesh stood higher up. Mahmudullah scored 49 from 76 balls. It was Ish Sodhi's exceptional bowling which stopped Bangladesh from scoring runs. He alone ripped through the batting lineup of Bangladesh and helped them win for the very first time after 2008 in ODI's.
