Bangladesh capped off a dominant T20I series against West Indies with an 80-run victory in the third match, securing a 3-0 whitewash. All-rounder Mahedi Hasan was named Player of the Series for his outstanding contributions, including 8 wickets and valuable runs across the series.

Reflecting on his performance and the team’s triumph, Mahedi credited his preparation and execution on challenging pitches. "In World Cup time, we had lots of options and team combinations. That's why I did not play," Mahedi said about missing out on the ICC Cricket World Cup earlier in the year. "But we came to West Indies again, and I had good confidence from the Global Super League and the experience I gained for this series."

Mahedi, who dismissed Nicholas Pooran thrice during the series, explained his approach: "I enjoyed bowling in this type of wicket because, in World Cup time, I saw similar wickets turning, sketchy, and low. We were planning before the series to focus on wicket-to-wicket bowling. Accuracy is the most important thing in this type of wicket."

The off-spinner also highlighted his familiarity with Pooran's weaknesses. "I know Pooran because we’ve played together in the BPL and other leagues. I know he has difficulty against right-arm off-spinners. That was the plan, and we succeeded against him."

Bangladesh’s T20I series victory comes after a disappointing ODI performance earlier on the tour. However, Mahedi praised the team’s hunger for success. "The boys were really hungry in the T20I series. You could see it in their body language throughout this series. Hopefully, we will carry this momentum into the Champions Trophy."

In the decisive third T20I, Bangladesh posted 189/7, powered by Jaker Ali's explosive 72* off 41 balls. Mahedi was instrumental with the ball, taking two wickets and conceding just 13 runs in his three overs. The West Indies’ batting lineup crumbled under pressure, managing only 109 runs in 16.4 overs.

Bangladesh's all-round performance underscores their growing strength in T20Is, with promising signs heading into future international tournaments.
