The last season of the Lanka Premier League (LPL) was like a dream for Bangladesh batter Towhid Hridoy. At one stage he was the highest run-scorer of the tournament. However, in this year’s LPL, he is not getting chance in the playing XI. He was on the bench since Dambulla Sixers' first two matches.

However, the team's coach Rangana Herath assured that Hridoy might get a chance to be in the eleven again in the Colombo phase of the LPL which is going to start on July 13. Hridoy is not in the XI for now mainly because of the combination, said Herath.

Herath told to BDCricTime, “There is a scope to have only 4 foreigners in a team. For this reason, alternative players have to be considered. He will probably get a chance in the XI in the Colombo phase.”

Hridoy scored 1 run in the first match and didn’t get the chance to bat in the second match. After that, South African Reeza Hendricks got the chance in the team in the place of Hridoy. After today's two matches, there will be a 2-day break in LPL, then the Colombo phase will begin. Dambulla will play against Galle Marvels on July 13.
