Former West Indies fast bowler Michael Holding recently said that Indian fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah should take more care on his bowling action and run-up to ensure a long bowling career. Jasprit-Bumrah

Jasprit Bumrah is one of the few fast bowlers in the modern day cricket who are doing a great job in all three formats of the game. The fast bowler gained the attention of the people through his bowling action even before his bowling performances. At the beginning when Jasprit Bumrah made his IPL debut, there were lot of negative thoughts on his bowling action even by some cricket experts too. But later he proved that his critics are wrong on his bowling action. At the moment the fast bowler is out of action due to a stress fracture he is having. And it is stated he is getting proper treatment for the fracture in London. While he is been ruled out former Caribbean fast bowler Michael Holding said that Bumrah has to be more careful on his bowling action and short run-up. “I wouldn’t be able to say that Bumrah’s action has caused him to have stress fractures as I have no idea where those stress fractures have occurred, but what I know and have said to him is this: If he wants to have a long career, he needs to have a run-up and action that puts a bit less stress on his body overall,” Holding told Sportstar. Also the former fast bowler cited the run-up of England's Jofra Archer who has a lengthy one which is a good one as it reduces the work load of the components in the long run-up. “Using such a short run and being so explosive at the crease puts a lot more stress on his body than, say, a Joffra Archer, who has such a smooth rhythmical run-up and action that allows him to distribute the workload over his body more efficiently,” he added.
