New Zealand have dominated the day 3 at Hagley Oval, Christchurch. Fifties from Kane Williamson, Rachin Ravindra, Daryl Mitchell and Tom Latham helped them set Australia a target of 279. In reply Australia crumbled as Henry and Sears teared apart Aussies.
Earlier, Rachin Ravindra and Daryl Mitchell stitched a match turning partnership of 123 runs and blunted out the deficit also helped Kiwis gain a healthy total. Pat Cummins and Nathan Lyon brought Australia with timely breakthroughs but at the backend of the innings, Scott Kugglejein scored a pivotal 44 off 49 balls which helped Kiwis to breach 250 mark barrier and post 279 for Aussies.
In reply, Australia crumbled infront of Matt Henry and Ben Sears who ripped through Aussies top order in a jiffy. Henry removed both the openers earlier with the new ball. And then Ben Sears knocked over Green and got Marnus Labuschagne and Australia were stuttering for 34-4. And then Head and Marsh came to rescue Aussies and held a partnership of 43* runs and ensured that Aussies go unscathed through the stumps.
Australia are now on 77-4 and they need 202 runs to win the match with just 6 wickets in hands. New Zealand are edge ahead now and they'll be hoping to bundle out Aussies cheaply in the morning session to square the series by 1-1.
