Fans were astonished that Hasan Ali did not celebrate when he took Babar Azam's wicket in the Lanka Premier League (LPL) 2023. Hasan gave an interview after the game in which he discussed his reason not to celebrate Babar's wicket.

Colombo Strikers’ Babar was caught by Sadeera Samarawickrama in Hasan Ali's bowling against Dambulla Aura. Dambulla and Colombo met in the 16th match of the season. Batting first, Dambulla collected 166 runs after losing 5 wickets in 20 overs. Babar started Colombo's innings with Pathum Nissanka chasing the target. After losing Nissanka and Niroshan Dickwella, when the pressure was on him, he lost his wicket to Hasan Ali.

But Hasan did not celebrate even after taking the wicket of a batter like Babar. Hasan looked at Babar with a smiley face. There was no hint of extra celebration in response to his wicket.
