Karachi Kings quick bowler Hasan Ali became history in the Pakistan Super League (PSL) on Friday by breaking former Peshawar Zalmi pacer Wahab Riaz's record for the most wickets taken in the history of the tournament.
The 30-year-old pacer achieved this feat in the Karachi Kings' current match against the Quetta Gladiators by getting Hasan Nawaz out, breaking Wahab Riaz's record of being the highest wicket-taker in the league's history and taking the top spot on the all-time wicket-taker list. He is famous for his aggressive celebrations, courageous spells, and tireless work ethic towards the game.
What is more amazing about Hasan's achievement is that he did it in only 83 innings—four less than Wahab, who took 113 wickets from 87 innings.
Hasan Ali debuted in PSL back in 2016 and became a sensation within no time owing to his express pace, unorthodox variation, and ability to prise apart key partnerships. Throughout the years, he played for several franchises such as Peshawar Zalmi, Islamabad United, and Karachi Kings but his impact was the same under every jersey.
Most Wickets in PSL History:
- Hasan Ali: 115 wickets in 84 innings
- Wahab Riaz: 113 wickets in 87 innings
- Shaheen Shah Afridi: 108 wickets in 74 innings
- Shadab Khan: 97 wickets in 87 innings
- Faheem Ashraf: 79 wickets in 73 innings
