Gerald Coetzee ruled out of West Indies Test series, Migael Pretorius replaces him

Proteas rising speedster Gerald Coetzee has been ruled out of the upcoming Test series against West Indies due to side strain. North-West Dragons fast bowler Migael Pretorius came as the replacement of Coetzee.

Coetzee sustained his side strain during the Major League Cricket 2024 playing for Texas Super Kings. On Thursday Cricket South Africa confirmed that he was not passed fit to play the two-match Test series.
Migael Pretorius, replacement of Coetzee is yet to make his Test debut. But he has an experience of 64 first class games. The 29-year-old has an overall first-class wicket tally of 188 at an average of 27.50.
South Africa will kick off the series in Port-of-Spain and then they'll head to Providence for the second Test. The Test series will commence from August before the commencement of the series, both the teams will have one of warm up game in between West Indies Invitational XI vs South Africa – Brian Lara Cricket Academy, Trinidad and Tobago .
