Farhad Reza’s all-round brilliance couldn’t save Rajshahi from a narrow 5-run defeat against Dhaka Metro in their second match of the NCL T20. While Rajshahi opened their campaign with a win, Dhaka Metro secured their second consecutive victory, continuing their dominance in the tournament.

Batting first at the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium, Dhaka Metro posted a competitive total of 162, getting bowled out with just one ball left in their innings. Naim Sheikh was once again in sublime form, smashing 43 runs off 23 balls, laced with 6 fours and 2 sixes.

Support came from Gazi Mohammad Tahzibul Islam, who contributed 31 off 18 balls, and Imran Uzzaman, who added a quickfire 21 off 12. For Rajshahi, Mohor Sheikh claimed three wickets, providing crucial breakthroughs.

Rajshahi’s chase got off to a shaky start, losing Sabbir Hossain early. Habibur Rahman Sohan steadied the innings with a quick 33 off 23 balls, but his dismissal left the team under pressure. It was Farhad Reza who stepped up, playing a scintillating knock of 60 runs off 35 balls, featuring 7 boundaries and 3 sixes.

However, his valiant effort wasn’t enough as Rajshahi fell short by just 5 runs, finishing at 157 all out in their 20 overs. Dhaka Metro’s Shohidul Islam was the star with the ball, claiming 4 wickets to seal the win.
