The England Cricket Board (ECB) has announced squad for the upcoming three-match Test series, which commences from August 21st, 2024. Jordan Cox has got the maiden call up for the England national team, while the opening batter Zak Crawley and Dillon Pennington will miss the series due to injury.

Zak Crawley fractured his finger on the right hand during England's 10-wicket thumping victory over West Indies at Edgbaston. The uncapped batter Jordan Cox will be Crawley's replacement for the Sri Lanka series. Crawley is aiming to return in time for England's Test tour to Pakistan in October.

Pennington was doubt for the series and it is now expected that he'll miss the entire English summer. Stone, whose last Test came against New Zealand in June 2021 has been named as the replacement of Pennington.

ENG Vs SL fixtures :

1. August 21-25 - 1st Test, Manchester.
2. August 29-September 2 - 2nd Test, Lord's.
3. September 6-10 - 3rd Test, The Oval.

Sri Lanka are yet to announce their squad for the tour as they're playing shorter-format series against India at home.
