The record for the best bowling performance in T20 cricket for Bangladesh was held by Elias Sunny for a long time. Now, Mustafizur Rahman has broken Sunny's record. Accepting the reality that records are made to be broken, Sunny has congratulated Mustafizur.

The 38-year-old spinner, Elias Sunny, has played 7 T20 matches for Bangladesh. On July 18, 2012, in Belfast against Ireland, Sunny took 5 wickets for just 13 runs. This had been the best bowling figure for Bangladesh in T20 cricket until now. However, Mustafizur Rahman broke Sunny's record on May 25. The pacer took 6 wickets for just 10 runs against the United States, setting the record for the best bowling figure by a Bangladeshi in international T20 cricket.
