Bedingham too scored a fluent 35 before falling to Prabath Jayasuriya. The Lankan tweaker ran riot through the Protea lower order and rattled them with an exclusive fifer as the Proteas were all-out for 317 runs with a lead of 347 runs.

Post that, Sri Lanka batters didn’t showcase their class as Pathum Nissanka and Angelo Mathews got out against run of play. Except from Dimuth Karunaratne, all the other batters got starts but couldn’t make things bigger.

Keshav Maharaj had a superb spell with the ball removing free flowing Angelo Mathews and Kamindu Mendis and left the visitors stuttering on 122-5.

And then captain Dhananjaya De Silva and wicketkeeper batter Kusal Mendis stood tall and played a super positive Cricket. The duo added 83 runs without falling any trap and they showed a lot class on the crease, smashing boundaries at regular basis to tick off the run rate.

Sri Lanka are on 205-5, needing of more 143 runs to make the series 1-1 and keep their hope alive for the WTC final. While South Africa need only 5 more wickets to wrap up the series by 2-nil to solidify their chances for the next year's Lord's ticket.
