Jasprit BumrahThe all-important tournament will start from October 16 onwards and it comes to an end on November 13, with the finals of the tourney set to be played at the Melbourne Cricket Ground.
Team India will kick-started their campaign on October 23 as they will take on Pakistan cricket team at the MCG. India already have plenty of problems to sort out as far as the bowling department is concerned.
Bumrah was also earlier ruled out of the Asia Cup owing to back problem. India clearly missed his services in the tournament. The Men in Blue struggled to defend totals when it mattered the most in the Asia Cup tournament.
They surrendered at the hands of Pakistan and Sri Lanka in the Super 4 stage as they failed to defend the totals in crucial circumstances.
"Bumrah is not going to play the World T20 for sure. He has a serious back condition. It's a stress fracture and he could be out for a period of six months," a top BCCI official told PTI on conditions of anonymity.
Meanwhile, India have the likes of both Mohammed Shami and Deepak Chahar in the standby list for the marquee event. With Bumrah not being part of the event, either Shami or Chahar could be fielded in the main squad now.
