However, Blackwood could not convert his 13th Test fifty to his third Test hundred, and his side also lost momentum all of a sudden and got all-out on 259 from 253 for five at one point.
At the end of third day's play where Bangladesh are leading West Indies by 218 runs, Blackwood expressed his frustration saying he should have played a bigger knock.
“It was very frustrating. I really wanted to convert more of these half centuries into centuries. I am stepping into the right direction. But I was very disappointed at the way I got out," he said.
However, Blackwood hoped for a better performance in the next innings. "Next innings I have to hold down my head and bat in the same fashion."
Even though West Indies are clearly way behind Bangladesh at this point of the game, Blackwood said they were still in the game, and they would play "hour by hour, session by session" and look to grab every chance to win the match.
"We have to take it hour by hour, session by session. Once it comes down to that, the guys are very much up to it. I know Kraigg, John Campbell and Bonner are hungry for runs.
"I know the guys like Mayers and Moseley want to get some runs under their belt as well. Once the opportunity presents itself to win, we will certainly go for it."
