Due to the ongoing situation in the country and a lack of adequate preparation, the Bangladesh cricket team arrived in Pakistan earlier than planned. However, the Tigers have encountered a new challenge—they are facing significant difficulties in accessing the internet.

Last month, a movement for quota reform escalated into a bloody conflict, leading to nationwide protests that eventually culminated in demands for the Prime Minister’s resignation. Ultimately, the authoritarian ruler, Sheikh Hasina, resigned and fled to India. During the unrest, internet services were shut down across Bangladesh for several days, disrupting the cricketers' preparation.

After Professor Dr. Muhammad Yunus took charge of the new interim government, the situation in the country stabilized somewhat. Now, Pakistan seem to be following a similar path. The country is in turmoil with protests demanding the release of former Prime Minister and PTI Chairman Imran Khan. In this situation, internet services in Pakistan have been limited, with some areas experiencing complete shutdowns.

Internet service providers have reported that the disruption is due to government surveillance, although the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA), the country’s top cyber regulatory agency, has yet to comment on the issue. As a result, Bangladeshi cricketers are struggling to use the internet and communicate with their families back home, leading to frustration among the players.

A source from the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) mentioned that some cricketers' families have reached out to them. The team is safe, and alternative communication methods using local numbers are being arranged. However, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has stated that they have not received any complaints from the BCB regarding internet issues.
