Legendary Pakistan batsman Babar Azam equaled former Indian captain MS Dhoni's record of 41 wins in T20I matches on Friday (April 14) as Pakistan defeated New Zealand in the first T20I of the five-match series played at Gaddafi Stadium was, by 88 runs, defeated Lahore.

Overall, he has tied the record for most T20I centuries with Glenn Maxwell, Colin Munro and Suryakumar Yadav, while Rohit Sharma tops the list at four hundred.
Babar Azam has the opportunity to become the most successful captain in T20I history with three more games in the ongoing series against the Black Caps. The hosts meet the Kiwis in the third T20I at the same location on Monday 17 April. Pakistan will host the remaining two games in Rawalpindi.
