It's been a while since the terms are not in good between Sri Lanka Cricket and Sri Lankan cricketers, regarding the new payment scheme. Sri Lanka Cricket amended some changes on the annual contracts for the national men's cricketers. There the board also added a scheme to remunerate players based on the performance.
On the other hand, some senior cricketers like Angelo Mathews, Dimuth Karunaratne, and Suranga Lakmal will get pay cuts, according to the new contracts. Due to these confusions, Sri Lankan cricketers haven't signed their annual contracts and expressed their dissatisfaction on this through a legal notice. The players have demanded transparency in assigning the contracts.
Meanwhile, former Sri Lankan cricketer and Chairman of the Sri Lanka Cricket Advisory Committee Aravinda de Silva gave some clarity regarding the new contract scheme. He mentioned that players will get more benefits than the previous schemes in the new performance-based payment scheme.
