This dominant performance was led by the Under-19 World Cup-winning captain, Akbar Ali, whose blistering unbeaten 68 runs off just 29 balls helped Rangpur chase down a daunting target of 190 set by Rajshahi. With this win, Rangpur has taken the top spot in the points table.

In a high-scoring encounter at the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium, Rajshahi set a challenging target of 190 after electing to bat first. The team managed to score 189/8 in their allotted 20 overs. Despite the efforts of their captain, Najmul Hossain Shanto, who struggled with the bat, the other batters contributed significantly. Shanto, who had missed the Caribbean tour due to injury, could only manage 6 runs off 9 balls at the opening position.

Habibur Rahman Sohan added 30 runs from 18 balls, but it was Sabbir Hossain who anchored the innings. He played a brilliant knock of 73* off 52 balls, featuring 7 fours and 2 sixes, at a strike rate of 140.38. Golam Kibria also chipped in with a quickfire 38 runs from 15 balls, hitting 3 fours and 3 sixes.

On the bowling front, Rangpur’s Alauddin Babu and Rizwan Chowdhury were the standout performers. Both claimed 3 wickets each, with Babu conceding 25 runs and Rizwan 41 runs.
