The deceased cricketer has been identified as Satyajit Pradhan, a plus-two student of Derabish college. It was such a painful feeling to everyone on the pitch after they saw Satyajit Pradhan collapse on the pitch at the non-striker end.
The shocking incident happened while Pradhan was trying to take a single and it was then something terrible happened to him as he collapsed on the pitch during the match at Kendrapara Autonomous College ground.
Soon after that, the cricketer was then rushed to a nearby district headquarters hospital where the hospital authorities declared him brought dead. Pradhan might have passed away of heart attack, police added in a statement, quoting the hospital authorities.
Now, a case of unnatural death has been filed and the post mortem examination of the body will be conducted on Tuesday to determine the exact cause of the death, police added.
