The start of the ICC Women's ODI World Cup Qualifier in Lahore, Pakistan, is a great time for Bangladesh cricket.  Two Bangladeshi umpires, Shathira Jakir Jessy and Masudur Rahman Mukul, have been chosen to oversee games in this renowned event. They will be representing their country as umpires on the world stage.

The tournament begins with a high-profile clash between hosts Pakistan and Ireland, set to take place at the Gaddafi Stadium. Making her debut in an ICC global event, Jessy will be one of the on-field umpires in the tournament opener, alongside the vastly experienced Shaun Haig. Lubabalo Gcuma will serve as the TV umpire, while Donovan Koch will act as the fourth umpire. Sandra Fritz will oversee proceedings as the match referee.

Meanwhile, Masudur Rahman Mukul will also be in action on the opening day. He will stand as one of the on-field umpires in the match between West Indies Women and Scotland Women, scheduled at the Lahore City Cricket Association Ground. His partner on the field for this game will be Pakistan’s Saleema Imtiaz.

Adding Jessy is a big step forward; this will be her first time working as an umpire at an ICC event.  Her selection shows that Bangladeshi officials are becoming more visible and well-known in international women's cricket.

As the tournament progresses, more notable appointments are in place. On April 11, Zimbabwe’s Sarah Dambanevana and South Africa’s Lubabalo Gcuma will officiate the Ireland vs West Indies fixture.

Bangladesh Women’s campaign kicks off on April 10 against Thailand. The match will be officiated by Faisal Khan Afridi and Candace la Borde as on-field umpires.

In one of the most anticipated fixtures of the group stage, Bangladesh will face hosts Pakistan on April 19. The match will be officiated by Dedunu de Silva and Sarah Dambanevana. On the same day, Mukul will return to the field alongside Salima Imtiaz for the West Indies vs Thailand match.
