The Asian Cricket Council (ACC) is likely to make a fresh decision on the Asia Cup. The ACC intends to bid for Asia Cup media rights for four to eight years next month. A choice has also been taken to choose a host.
According to Cricbuzz, the ACC wants to sign this deal for four to eight years. ACC is pursuing long-term contracts on the advise of broadcasters. This comprises four editions of the Asia Cup. There will be two ODI formats and two T20 formats.
The political animosity between the two countries has spilled over onto the playing field. That is why the bilateral cricket series between India and Pakistan has been suspended for over a century. Except for the International Cricket Council (ICC) and Asian Cricket Council (ACC) events, India and Pakistan do not play each other.
The Pakistan cricket team went to India to play the ODI World Cup last year with the certainty that India will participate in the Champions Trophy, which will be hosted in Pakistan in 2025. Previously, the ACC was having difficulty hosting the Asia Cup in India or Pakistan. The last Asia Cup was held in both nations. Because of the rivalry between India and Pakistan, it has been determined that the Asia Cup would be held somewhere other than these two nations.
According to the ACC, India and Pakistan are not included on the list of hosts to prevent controversy. As a result, the list of hosts includes Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, the United Arab Emirates, and Oman.
