India captain Suryakumar Yadav commended his team's collective effort and selfless approach after India clinched a comprehensive 3-0 series win against Bangladesh in the third T20I on Wednesday (October 9).
The explosive batting of Sanju Samson, who scored a blistering 111 off just 47 balls, led India to a commanding total of 297/6 in their 20 overs. Suryakumar himself contributed significantly with a quickfire 75 from 35 balls, helping India dominate the game.
In his post-match statement, Suryakumar emphasized the importance of camaraderie and flexibility in the team. He remarked, "I think we've achieved a lot as a team. Had said wanted to have selfless cricketers and want to be a selfless team, enjoy each others' performances. That camaraderie is coming off."
He also highlighted a key message shared by Gautam Gambhir before the series: "Gauti bhai said the same thing before the series that no one is bigger than the team, no matter you are on 49 or 99, you have to hit the ball out of the field. That's what Sanju did today." Samson's aggressive approach paid off as his innings featured 11 fours and 8 sixes, propelling India to a near-unbeatable score.
On the bowling front, Bangladesh struggled to chase down the mammoth target, finishing at 164/7 in their 20 overs. Towhid Hridoy’s unbeaten 63 offered some resistance, but Ravi Bishnoi's 3/30 and Mayank Yadav’s 2/32 restricted their chase.
Suryakumar further noted the team's flexibility in both batting and bowling, saying, "We have to be flexible when it comes to batting and bowling. Bowlers who can have to chip in. Batters have to be flexible and their performances were commendable."
Reflecting on areas of improvement, the captain added, "Just maintain the good habits on the field. Just be the same."
