West Indies vs England
Kensington Oval, Bridgetown

West Indies
172/6 (18.1)

England
171/10 (19.3)
West Indies won by 4 wickets
Man of the match | Andre Russell (West Indies) |
After the West Indies won the crucial ODI against England in Barbados on Saturday evening, the same teams will face each other in the first T20I at Kensington Oval on Tuesday evening.
The ODI series comes to an end as hosts West Indies secured a long-awaited victory over England by a 2-1 margin. Now the focus is on the shortest format, with both teams facing off in the three-match T20I series, an opportunity to strengthen their squads with only a few games left before next year's T20 World Cup.
After beating England in the ODIs, the West Indies and their fans will be excited ahead of this T20I. However, Rovman Powell's side will have to be at their best once again to take a 1-0 lead in this five-game series on Tuesday.
Many of the players selected for England in this game will be looking to put in a performance that will increase their chances of being selected for next year's T20 World Cup. There may be a lack of experience on the team, but there is still plenty of talent.
Match Preview
Buoyed by the recent success over England in a different format, Team West Indies will shift their attention to a much more stern challenge. Facing the current T20 world champions in their own backyard.
England's experienced players, including Moeen Ali, Chris Woakes and Tymal Mills, will make their comeback in the three-match T20I series against the West Indies. After losing the ODI series 1-2, the Jos Buttler-led side has something to prove, especially with the T20 World Cup just around the corner. They must first find their rhythm and then work on the composition that fits best in the shortest format.
As for the home team, Andre Russell is about to make his comeback after more than two years. The West Indies middle order of Nicholas Pooran, Rovman Powell, Shimron Hetmyer and Russell looks destructive as the England bowlers may have a tough time in the middle. However, consistency will be key for the team as they look to recreate the glory days.

Match Prediction
There was a huge crowd at the venue on Saturday and we expect another big turnout for the opening T20I of the series. We're not expecting a very high-scoring game, but there will certainly be a lot of boundaries looking at the batting lineups shown. Player for player, we believe the West Indies have more experience and will be better suited to these conditions. Our prediction is that the West Indies will win.

Akeal Hosein – The 30-year-old left-arm spinner has 99 T20 wickets throughout his career and will therefore be keen to get at least one dismissal in Barbados. He has the best figures in T20Is of 4/30.
Romario Shepherd – The bowling all-rounder showed his talent in the ODI series with scores of 48, 19 and 41 despite taking 5 wickets in total. He will be a threat in both innings.
England Key players
Jos Buttler - The captain is under a lot of pressure in this series after his side's poor performances in the World Cup in India and the ODI series here. However, he has scored 2766 runs from 100 T20 innings.
Sam Curran – The left-arm bowling all-rounder looked close to his best bowling in terms of pace, accuracy and swing on Saturday. With 123 wickets across all international formats, he is a great competitor.
