After spending Thursday, July 6, celebrating India's T20 World Cup win, star hitter Virat Kohli departed for London late that night in Mumbai.
Last week, the Indian cricket team successfully won the T20 World Cup in Barbados. However, they were unable to return to India promptly due to a hurricane. After touching down in Delhi on Thursday, they took a plane to Mumbai to throw a huge party.
During their special breakfast meeting, Prime Minister Narendra Modi engaged in casual conversations with each member of the team. The squad then jetted out to Mumbai for an exclusive road show, where they showed off the trophy to a throng of adoring supporters.
At the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai, Rohit Sharma's team was feted by the BCCI (Board of Control for Cricket in India). The audience was enthralled by their dance moves and patriotic rendition of AR Rahman's Vande Mataram.
Accompanying their two children, Vamika and Akaay, his Bollywood actress wife Anushka Sharma are allegedly in the UK. For the legendary India vs. Pakistan T20 World Cup match, Anushka was spotted at New York's Nassau County International Cricket Stadium; however, she was nowhere to be found during the rest of the tournament.
A video of Virat's arrival at the Mumbai airport went viral on Thursday night. The cricketer allegedly took a private jet to London. His outfit, consisting of an olive-green jacket, a basic white shirt, and matching pants, made him look sharp.
Bhawna Kohli Dhingra, Virat's older sister, posted many photos to Instagram showing the batsman posing with his relatives. “Celebrating the win. Superproud,” she captioned the pics. Anushka wasted no time at all adding a heart emoji to the post's comment area.
Anushka Sharma wrote a heartfelt ode to her husband, a cricketer, and the Men in Blue soon after Team India's triumph. Vamika, her daughter, was worried about the Indian team members who sobbed after winning the Twenty20 World Cup, including Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, Hardik Pandya, and others, she stated. Anushka posted an Instagram photo in which she said the couple's kid had asked the Men in Blue if they had anybody to lean on when they sobbed. “Our daughter’s biggest concern was if all the players had someone to hug them after she saw them cry on tv….. Yes, My darling, they were hugged by 1.5 billion people ❤️ What a phenomenal victory and what a legendary achievement!! CHAMPIONS – CONGRATULATIONS!!” she wrote.
