For the first time, an ICC event will be held in the world's greatest economy, the United States. The 2024 T20 World Cup will take place in the West Indies and the United States. USA have made extensive preparations in advance of the competition.   

USA won the three-match T20I series against Bangladesh with one match in hand. They played good cricket in both matches. After winning the second match on Thursday by 6 runs, Ali Khan, the match-winner of the team's victory, has talked about his bowling and how he comes back after an injury. Ali took 3 wickets conceding 25 runs in 3.3 overs.

In the press conference, Ali said, “It was my first game back after three months. I was coming back from a major injury, and sometime you need time out in the middle to get back into rhythm. And it was for me to just go and just get used to the conditions. Of course, it didn't go the way I would have liked. Usually, I don't go for that many runs, but it was just, again, as I said, it was my first game back. It's no excuse. It was just trying to get used to the conditions.

“And what I've learned from that game, I tried to implement in this game, and it's just a process. You just got to learn and you got to adapt to the conditions as fast as you can. World Cup is coming up, so we don't have much time. I don't have much time because I need to get into more rhythm. I still feel like there's a lot of improvement to be done for myself. Of course, guys have been playing. They had a good series against Canada, which I unfortunately missed. But yeah, I'm feeling good. I felt good out there today as well.”

Ali also talks about their chance in the T20 World Cup and says that they’re hungry to do well. “We are hungry. We're just hungry and we're going to try to eat whatever comes in our way. Especially this is a time where we can make some changes and try to adjust what we can, small little things. But I think the team looks really balanced. All the guys are hungry, as I said, and we are really looking forward to the World Cup, and I'm sure USA will be there to do an upset,” Ali added.

Ali then talks about the massive series win against Bangladesh. “It's massive because as I said, we need to put USA out there on the world cricket map, and this is a pure example. It's not just that we earned it. Sometimes you get a win against a big side, they say, Oh, it's a fluke. But beating them twice, back to back, winning the series, it's not a fluke. That means we have talent, we have skills, and we have the ability if we have given the opportunities,” Ali further said.
