Taskin Ahmed is the regular face of the national team of Bangladesh. He is representing the team in all three formats. Performance is also consistently good.

Bangladesh will play series against Sri Lanka after the BPL. There is T20 World Cup in June this year. Bangladeshi cricketers who have to deal with the pressure of consecutive games have a very busy schedule in front of them. Taskin told the BCB that he did not want to play Tests in the Sri Lanka series to avoid risks in the World Cup year. Now he explained the reason.

Dhaka captain Taskin came to the press conference after the match between Durdanto Dhaka and Sylhet Strikers. Regarding not wanting to play Tests against Sri Lanka, he said, “Actually, I had a 45% tear in my shoulder. The last time I had an MRI was during the World Cup. But still having to manage the rehab and play. Now, God forbid, if there is a bigger tear, then surgery must be done. So surgery will take 8 months to 1 year out. After that, many factors determine how the rhythm will be.

“So I told the board that if I could be given a break from Test cricket maybe as long as my shoulder was fine. If it improves again in the future, I will try (to play Tests). That is why I was actually saying that I should not be considered in Test cricket for the time being. There is actually a medical team and everyone has proof, there is nothing to hide. That's why I was saying.”

In response to the question of what the BCB has said, Taskin added, “They say that they will sit after the BPL. When the coach will come, everyone on the board sits together to talk.”

The BPL final will be held on March 1. The Sri Lanka series will start from March 4.
