Sufiyan Muqeem reaches new high, surpassing Umar Gul to have the best T20I bowling figure for Pakistan

Spinner Sufiyan Muqeem has claimed the best figures for Pakistan in T20I's after Pakistan's emphatic victory over Zimbabwe in the second T20I.

It was Sufiyan Muqeem's seventh T20I match and he returned with a spectacular figure of 5/3, which bundled Zimbabwe for their lowest ever total in T20I's, 57. Earlier the day, Zimbabwe had slumped to their then lowest ever T20I total of 82 against Sri Lanka.
However, Sufiyan Muqeem's superb efforts have surpassed Umar Gul and Imad Wasim's spells in T20I's.

- Sufiyan Muqeem - 5/3 against Zimbabwe in 2024
- Umar Gul - 5/6 against South Africa in 2013
- Imad Wasim - 5/14 against West Indies in 2016
- Umar Gul - 4/8 against Australia in 2009
Pakistan's captain Salman Agha showed full praisea for his side's efforts.
“Losing the toss did not concern us because we had plans and executed them really well. The bowling of Sufiyan was outstanding," Agha said.
“We have a young side full of quality players and the way they are performing is very heartening for me.”
In reply of only 58, Pakistan took no time to chase down the total, with Saim Ayub (36*) and Omair Yousuf (22*) requiring just 5.3 overs to reach the victory as the Asian side thumped Zimbabwe by 10 wickets to go 2-0 up in the T20I series.
