The Bangladeshi left-handed batsman, known for his powerful hitting and occasional pace bowling, will don the Bangla Tigers Hambantota jersey as they gear up to compete in Sri Lanka’s newest T10 franchise league. Soumya's selection reflects his enduring appeal and skill set, as he joins an elite roster in this fast-paced format of the game.

Held on November 10, the Lanka T10 draft saw several star players from around the world signed to various teams. While fans had to wait for a Bangladeshi name to emerge, Soumya was chosen from the "C" category of foreign players. His selection follows that of Bangladesh's Shakib Al Hasan, who was the first pick for the Galle Marvels as a direct signing, setting the stage for an exciting face-off between the two Bangladeshi stars.

This December, the Lanka T10 will kick off with six competing teams: Bangla Tigers Hambantota, Galle Marvels, Colombo Strikers, Kandy Bolts, Jaffna Titans, and Dambulla Jaguars Braves. Organized by T10 Sports Management, the event will feature a round-robin league phase, followed by playoffs to crown the inaugural champions.
