Kyle Klein and Saqib Zulfiqar have been added to Netherlands T20 World Cup squad in replace of Fred Klaassen and Daniel Doram, who have been ruled out of the tournament.
Doran was out because of a broken wrist, but Klaasen was dealing with a relapse of symptoms from a previous stress fracture in the lower back. Of the two called up as substitutes, Klein was in the squad as a traveling reserve. Zulfiqar got a new World Cup call-up.
To date, spinner Zulfiqar has participated in 6 T20 Internationals (T20Is) and 15 One-Day Internationals (ODIs). He has claimed nine wickets at an economy rate of 6.46. Pacer Klein has only participated in one T20I and two ODIs.
The Netherlands are currently playing a tri-series with Scotland and Ireland in preparation for the T20 World Cup. Despite beating Scotland by a huge margin in the tournament, Netherlands lost by 1 run in a thriller against Ireland.
Netherlands will play in Group 'D' of T20 World Cup. Bangladesh, Nepal, Sri Lanka and South Africa are their competitors. The Netherlands' World Cup campaign will begin with a match against Nepal in Dallas on June 4.
