Mumbai Indians have crushed Chennai Super Kings by 9 wickets on Sunday (April 20). Jasprit Bumrah and Mitchell Santner's superb spells reduced CSK to 176 runs. In response, blistering fifties from Rohit Sharma and Suryakumar Yadav handed MI a crushing win.
Being inserted to bat first, Chennai Super Kings lost their gun opener Rachin Ravindra earlier on. Other opener Shaik Rasheed found it very tough to get going as he fumbled throughout his innings, consuming 20 balls and scoring only 19 runs.
And then Ravindra Jadeja and Shivam Dube together combined for a crucial 79-run stand, whereas both of the batters brought up their fifties each and they were eyeing for big total. But Jasprit Bumrah pulled things back, picking up settled Dube's and and newly batter MS Dhoni's wicket as CSK managed to get 176 on the board.
In reply, Mumbai Indians wicketkeeper batter Ryan Rickelton faltered earlier on after a quick start. But that didn’t stop MI from that onslaught as the veteran opener Rohit Sharma and Suryakumar Yadav together steadied the ship for the MI, stitching up an outstanding 114-run stand and making the CSK bowlers pay. Rohit Sharma remained unbeaten after his excellent 76* off 45 balls and Suryakumar Yadav were on 68* off 30 balls as MI Indians claimed their third victory on the trot.
