Rain falls over Munro's effort in 2nd T20I

West Indies chose to bowl first after winning the toss. The start of play was delayed by 20 minutes due to rain. Martin Guptill got out on 2 off Sheldon Cottrell in the first over. Colin Munro smashed the Caribbeans all over the park. He went on to score his fourth T20I half-century in 18 balls, the joint sixth-fastest of all time and the second-fastest by a New Zealander. Munro lighted up the new year's match with 66 runs from 23 balls at a strike rate of 286.95. It's the fourth-highest strike rate in a 50+ innings in T20Is. He hit 11 fours and 3 sixes in his knock. He was dismissed in the last over of the powerplay in which Kesrick Williams leaked 24 runs. Munro and skipper Kane Williamson, who returned to Blackcaps side, added 76 runs for the second wicket. New Zealand made 86/2 in the powerplay. West Indies slowed down the scoring rate after Munro's dismissal. Last match's hero Glenn Phillips was given lbw for 10 to Samuel Badree after he hit Williams for a six on free hit. Tom Bruce was caught off Ashley Nurse by a stunning one-hand catch from skipper Carlos Brathwaite. The play had to stop after 9 overs when the hosts were 102/4. Williamson was unbeaten on 17* and Anaru Kitchen (1*) just joined him. The rain did not let the play to resume anymore as match officials decided to call off. With the second T20I ending in no result, New Zealand are still leading the three-match series by 1-0.
