LAHORE: Multan Sultans all-rounder from Singapore Tim David has tested positive for the corona virus.

According to a private news outlet, the Multan Sultans suffered a major blow ahead of the first HBL PSL 7 playoff game after Tim David tested positive.

Results were positive during routine PCR testing. However, the franchise management has not revealed anything yet.

It will be harder for the Sultans with the loss of David as he was a key player for the team.

David's exclusion from the Playing XI will certainly hurt Multan Sultans as he has been a key player in their successful run throughout the league.

Sources shared that the player tested positive during a routine PCR test. However, the team management has neither confirmed nor denied the news.

The Sultans will take the horns in tonight's qualifier against Lahore Qalandars at 19:30 under the lights of Lahore's Gaddafi Stadium.

Earlier on, Peshawar Zalmi was also hit by Covid-19 where some of the players including Usman Qadir and Ben Cutting tested positive. They will most likely miss the playoffs until their tests come back negative.

Sources say three members - players and a coaching staff - of the Zalmi squad have tested positive for the novel coronavirus.

Players include Australian all-rounder Ben Cuttings and leg spinner Usman Qadir, while team mentor Hashim Amla has also reported back positive for COVID-19.

That means they will have to isolate themselves for seven days, according to the protocol set out by the Pakistan Cricket Board.

Players will miss the eliminators, but they will be available for the finals of the tournament if Zalmi qualifies.
