KARACHI: The Karachi Kings' star all-rounder Imad Wasim was confident his team would make a strong comeback in PSL after suffering three consecutive losses in the opening games of the tournament.

Senior all-rounder and former Karachi Kings skipper Imad Wasim has expressed his confidence in the squad despite three straight flops in the current Pakistan Super League (PSL) season, saying the Kings will make a strong comeback in the tournament.

The Karachi Kings will take on Peshawar Zalmi on February 4th at the National Stadium Karachi. The home team was beaten by Multan Sultans, Quetta Gladiators and Lahore Qalandars.

Imad, who has been replaced by Pakistani skipper Babar Azam this PSL season, believes it's not over yet.

"The players are injured [from the defeats] but the squad wants to make a successful comeback in the tournament,"

"The overall atmosphere in the dressing room is good, with a good coaching staff and players supporting each other."

The cricketer said the Kings have seven more games to play so the team will do their best in the remaining games to prove themselves.

Regarding the Sultans who didn't start well in the previous edition of PSL, Imad said that the Kings have the Sultans as their motivation as they made a strong comeback in the second leg of PSL 6 and eventually won the trophy.

In response to a question, Imad said that his opinion is always respected by Babar and they both get along very well.

“We made our debut together and know each other very well. He always respects my opinion, the Karachi Kings and the Pakistan team are doing well," said Imad.

The all-rounder added that he doesn't have goals like being top scorer or top wicket-taker but wants to contribute to the team's success.

"I want to do what is useful for my team, things that can help my team win the games and do well in the tournament. Also, I've developed some bowling truths and I want to improve my skills during the tournament as well,” he said.

Speaking on the performance of the Pakistan squad, Imad said Caput coach Saqlain Mushtaq motivated the players to achieve precise counter mode during the 2021 T20 World Cup and Helium is a great recognition of the team's success at the tournament.

He said that the mode men play successfully is green, they can hit the adjacent satellite cup full of arsenic well.

“The way the players perform and the way everyone supports each other. I am sure that if we keep playing like this we will certainly beat the neighboring T20 satellite cup in Australia with great success.”

“The best thing about the team is that everyone supports each other and the players trust each other. Babar is getting more mature every day in his batting technique and also in his captaincy, so we gel as a very good unit," added Imad.
