PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi mentioned that Pakistan won't be heading to India to play this year's Women's ODI World Cup 2025. Pakistan will host its games at a neutral location, as per the hybrid model approved earlier this year. Naqvi mentioned that India and the ICC would choose the neutral venue.
"As India did not play in Pakistan in the Champions Trophy and was permitted to play at a neutral ground, we will play wherever the ground is decided. If a decision is taken, it needs to be respected," he said.
The PCB chief added that India and the ICC, being the hosts of the tournament, would take a decision on the neutral ground. India will be hosting the tournament between September 29 and October 26, and the current champion is Australia.
Under the hybrid model, India and Pakistan would host their matches at neutral grounds if either nation were to host an ICC event by 2027. India will be hosting the Women's World Cup from September 29 to October 26, with Australia being the defending champions. "Pakistan will not go to India as this formula has already been agreed upon," Naqvi stated.
When questioned on which neutral venue would host Pakistan's World Cup matches, Naqvi said the host country would decide, but insisted the national team would not go to India.
"The team has demonstrated how to utilize the home advantage and play as a team," he said. "I am glad women's cricket is performing well now."
