Chennai Super Kings beat Mumbai Indians by 4 wickets on Sunday (March 23). Noor Ahmed's four wicket-haul and three wickets from Khaleel Ahmed restricted MI to a paltry 155 runs. In reply, Rachin Ravindra's superb 65* steered CSK home comfortably.Being inserted to bat first, Khaleel Ahmed removed Rohit Sharma for a three-ball duck. And then he had wicketkeeper batter Ryan Rickelton as Mumbai Indians fell into deep trouble earlier on. And then CSK brought in their venomous spin attack as Ravichandran Ashwin had skipper Suryakumar Yadav and then Noor Ahmed did his job, he spun a web and ran riot through the MI middle order.
He single handedly demolished the entire MI middle order as he returned figures with four wicket-haul. At the backend of the innings, Deepak Chahar scored a quick-fire knock of 28* off 15 balls to help MI post a modest total of 155 runs.
In reply, Deepak Chahar removed Rahul Tripathi earlier on. But opener Rachin Ravindra and skipper Ruturaj Gaikwad stitched a fine stand of 67 runs together before the departure of the CSK skipper after his well-made 53 off just 26 deliveries. Vignesh Puthur brought MI back into the game as he led to a mild collapse but Rachin Ravindra was there and he firmly held there, scoring freely and steered his side home comfortably being remained unbeaten on 65* off just 45 deliveries as CSK chased down the total with 4 wickets in hands.
