The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) said in a statement that no Pakistani cricketers and officials will be given NOC from the board to participate in the T20 league in Afghanistan. The statement further said whoever contracted with the T20 league in Afghanistan would not be permitted to feature in the league. “The PCB announces that none of the players and officials (coaches) contracted to Afghanistan T20 league would be issued NOCs. No Pakistani players and officials could feature in the league” – the statement provided. The statement came just after Afghanistan Cricket Board cancelled two scheduled friendly T20 matches that were to be played against Pakistan. PCB, however, allegedly rejected Afghanistan Cricket Board's allegations regarding the Kabul blast in which at least 80 civilians were killed along with hundreds more wounded in the deadly attack. According to Afghan intelligence agency, the attack was carried in assistance of Pakistan by a Haqqani group of Talibans. PCB statement further said, "Over the years, the PCB helped cricketers in Afghanistan develop their expertise and an en entire generation of Afghan national players honed their cricketing skills in Pakistan." "It is also deeply regrettable that ACB delegations in Pakistan was at pains to insist that politics should not impinge on cricket and has now turned around and is playing politics by laying the blame for its troubles and inadequacies on Pakistan" - it added.
