Shahriar Nafees, in-charge of BCB's cricket operations department, however, could not give any definite information. Talking to the media in Mirpur, Nafees said, “Shakib Al Hasan has NOC till August 12. As there is NOC till 12th August he is supposed to come to the country on 13th August and report to us. Today, August 7, he has 2-3 more games. We will contact him and try to know his plan. There is a security issue, it's not just about Shakib Al Hasan, it's about you and all of us. Shakib Al Hasan is a cricketer, according to the order of the President, Shakib Al Hasan is no longer a member of parliament, he is a cricketer. Everyone is concerned about security. His NOC is available till August 12. The Bangladesh selection panel has not yet announced the squad for the Pakistan series. When announcing the team, if he is in the team then it is one thing, if he is not in the team then his NOC is not useful (then another thing).”
In response to the question whether Shakib is available, Nafees added, “One is whether he is in the team, another is whether he is available, if he is selected in the team. Then he will come to Bangladesh and join the team. It will be decided on team selection. Many times players also (don't play in a series) for personal reasons. It is the responsibility of the selection panel whether he will be selected or not. After that, whether he has to come to Bangladesh or whether he will go directly is a matter of the board's decision.”
The first match of the two-match Test series between Bangladesh and Pakistan will be played on August 21.
