Mujeeb's historic five-for dismantles Zimbabwe

Zimbabwe elected to bat first at the toss. Zimbabwe didn't have a good start at all as they lost both their openers Solomon Mire and Hamilton Masakadza to Mujeeb Zadran early. Veteran Brendon Taylor didn't stay too long at the crease. He departed scoring 29-ball 30 with a four and 2 sixes. Craig Ervine stood solid while rest were in a session of coming in and out. Zimbabwe were bowled out for 134 runs in 38 overs. Ervine was left unbeaten on 54 runs from 73 balls including 6 fours and a six. Mystery spinner Mujeeb Zadran took his maiden five-wicket haul, 5/50 in ten overs. Mohammad Nabi and Rashid Khan took two wickets each. Mujeeb, 16 years and 325 days old, became the youngest ever to take a five-for in ODIs breaking 28-year old record of former Pakistani Waqar Younis, who took 6/26 against Sri Lanka at the age of 18 years and 164 days at Sharjah in 1990. Mohammad Shahzad gave Afghanistan to a blistering start before the dinner break as he brought up his fifty before the interval. Afghanistan cruised to ten-wicket in 21.1 overs. This is the largest victory for them in terms of wickets and third-biggest in terms of balls remaining. Shahzad scored 75 runs off 74 deliveries hitting 10 fours and 3 sixes. Ihsanullah also registered a half-century. He finished off with 51* off 53 with 6 fours and 2 sixes. Brief scores: Zimbabwe 134 allout in 38 overs (Ervine 54; Mujeeb 5/50, Nabi 2/18, Rashid 2/28) Afghanistan 135/0 in 21.1 overs (Shahzad 75*, Ihsanullah 51*) Afghanistan won by 10 wickets Man of the Match: Mujeeb Zadran 5/50 -Ruffin, Correspondent, bdcrictime.com
