On Thursday, the Irish embassy granted Mohammad Amir a visa, which gave Pakistani cricket officials a sign of relief. Amir is expected to join the team before to the second T20 International in Dublin on May 12.

The board was informed of Amir's visa permission and proceeded to organise for the left-arm quick's travel from Lahore to Dublin, as noted by the PCB. Starting on May 22 in Leeds, the Pakistani squad will play seven Twenty20 Internationals (T20Is), three against the Irish and four against England. They departed for Ireland on May 7.

Rumour has it that the lengthy discussions between the boards of Ireland and Pakistan have finally fixed the technical issue that caused the visa delay.

However, following Amir's initial visa denial, the PCB reached out to the Ireland Cricket Board to arrange for his visa approval. A technical issue, which has already been fixed, was the main cause of PCB's visa delay, however sources close to the matter stated that PCB was not given a precise reason.

With a change in authority at Pakistan Cricket, Mohammad Amir has decided to come out of retirement and will likely be a member of the team that competes in the Twenty20 World Cup. Therefore, it is critical that he plays in the upcoming World Cup series against England and Ireland.
