Mitchell Hay has set an all-time wicket keeping record in T20I Cricket. He inflicted six dismissals during the second T20I against Sri Lanka, which is the most by any wicket keeper in a T20I match.

Mitchell Hay made his international debut in the first T20I against Sri Lanka and started his career off to a worst way possible as he had a two-ball duck.
But in the second T20I, Hay scored 3 with the bat in hand and took five catches and made a stumping as New Zealand defended a slender 108 to level the two-match T20I series 1-1.
His contribution with the gloves proved to be decisive as two of the six dismissals came in the very final over, when Sri Lanka needed just 7 runs off the last over. The dismissals were: the stumping of Matheesha Pathirana and then the catch of Maheesh Theekshana to seal the game for the Blackcaps.
Most dismissals for a wicketkeeper in a T20I:
- 6 - Mitchell Hay (NZ) vs SL, Dambulla, 2024
- 5 - Mohammad Shahzad (AFG) vs OMN, Abu Dhabi, 2015
- 5 - MS Dhoni (IND) vs ENG, Bristol, 2018
- 5 - Irfan Karim (KEN) vs GHA, Kampala, 2019
- 5 - Kiplin Doriga (PNG) vs VAN, Apia, 2019
The two-match T20I series has been drawn as the both teams have locked the horns for the one-dayers, which begins from Wednesday, November 13 in Dambulla.
