Bangladesh are positioned well in the first day of the two day practice match against New Zealand XI in Lincoln. Miraz-Mahmudullah

At the Bert Sutcliffe Oval, the touring side won the toss and decided to bat first. Four batsmen reached into their respective fifties and a couple of near half century scores took the team total to cross 400 run mark. After the exhaustive failure of the opening partnership in limited over series, Tamim Iqbal and Shadman Islam were unbroken till 113. Both of them lost their wickets within short interval. The biggest partnership was depicted in the fourth wicket where 230 runs were added. Four batsmen Litton Kumar Das, Soumya Sarkar, Mehedi Hasan Miraz and Mahmudullah Riyad, after settling in the crease, were departed making leeway for others to practice batting prior to the Test series. The highest 67 runs was scored by opener Shadman Islam followed by 62 from wicket keeper batsman Litton Kumar Das. Mahmudullah Riyad and Mehedi Hasan Miraz scored 59 and 51 respectively. All the batsmen in the line-up touched the double figure mark. For New Zealand XI, Blake Coburn claimed 2 wickets for 92. Touring Bangladesh will take on New Zealand in three match Test series starting from February 28 in Hamilton. Prior to this, the home team clinched the three match one day international series 3-0.
