The 18-year-old son of former England captain Michael Vaughan, Archie Vaughan, will play his first Under-19 Test match against Sri Lanka the following week.

He is part of a 14-man squad that also includes Jaydn Denly, Farhan Ahmed, and Rocky Flintoff—all well-known family names.

Even though Vaughan hasn't yet made his Somerset first-team debut, he has already had a big influence in the youth cricket. In a warm-up match against the England U19 ODI team last week, he hit 85 runs off of 83 balls for the Young Lions Invitational XI, with Flintoff, son of Andrew Flintoff, topping the tally with 106.

Vaughan scored 85 runs to assist the Invitational XI reach 288 all out in the warm-up match. With his century, Flintoff then guided the England team to victory by two wickets. Both Vaughan and Flintoff, who recently agreed to professional terms with Lancashire and signed a two-year contract with Somerset, are promising young players.

Between 1999 and 2008, Vaughan and Flintoff played together in 48 Test matches. Now, their sons have the opportunity to start their own age-group partnership in two Test matches against Sri Lanka in Wormsley on July 8–11 and in Cheltenham on July 16–19.
